A downloadable Game Design

These are some of the tabletop games I have developed over the years, including those in a WIP status. As soon as I had enough time, I will include links to the rules and components.

Puzzle Me!

Puzzle Me! is a competitive tile-placement game for 2 to 6 players. Players try to build the largest tile-composed board; tiles depict jigsaw pieces with 1 to 4 side connectors. At the beginning of the player's turn, up to 6 tiles will be drafted due to a dice roll. Players could also try to block others' actions by adding closing tiles to the opponent's board; however, these movements will negatively affect the game's endpoints.

I base the core mechanism (connect tiles to a specific tile's side) on Dominoes.

Puzzle Me! was funded with a Kickstarter in 2011 and self-published in 2012 with mixed reviews for the general public and positive reviews while referring to family-friendly games. The game had poor distribution and sales.

Do you want to make your own PNP version of Puzzle Me!? Here are the files.

Folklore

Folklore is a card game where 3 to 6 players compete to achieve the most points by the game's end. Points are count from up to 3 cards in the player's hand. This pool is multiplied by a value on card groups that the player has collected during the match; finally, points are deducted from any remaining card on the player's hand. During the game, players can use a variety of effects represented in old sayings.

Game Mechanics are based on Carioca's elements' distribution on the table. The end condition and the point counting system was based on Coloretto's. The effects on players' actions and drafting are similar to a myriad of current games; however, on those days, I was really into Bang!. The outcomes on players' groups are specific for Folklore's point system.

Folklore has been tested over 20 times, with more than 60 players, including "closed-box tests, " where players learn the instruction sheet rules.

Traveling Salesmen

Traveling Salesmen is a competitive game for 3 to 5 players, based on the same name's well-known math problem.

Each player controls two salesmen who must pass-thru all the Cities' tiles connected to each other by Roads of different movement costs. Cities and Roads are laid down by the players at the beginning of the game. In its early iterations, Salesmen's traverse was modified by rolling dices. Extra Movement Points could be acquired for each visited City. In its current iteration, all random factors have been removed. During tests, players felt the game lost its strategic feeling due to randomness.

The problem that has taken more time to be resolved is the max number of roads connecting to a single city.

You can download a PNP version here for color printing, or this link for a Black and White version.

Cycles

Cycles is a semi-competitive game where 4 to 8 players must arrange a circular game board composed of 8 tiles. The game's board represents a planet during the four seasons (Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring). Additionally, there are two types of meeples: Tourists and Diplomats. By the end of the game, the board tiles must represent a single season. The meeples have to be on a specific coordinate; the objective season, Tourists, and Diplomats' coordinate are defined at the beginning of the game by drafting an Objective Card. If players fail to complete the objective, everybody loses. If the board is assembled correctly, the players will count points based on personal private goals.

The first iteration of Cycles was developed in 2009 as a tool to test and foster collaboration skills. Its first prototype was made using a regular card deck.

After more than 10 years of development, Cycles is close to a final version, including a significant graphic overhaul.

Tiny RPG

T_RPG is a very simplified pen&paper Role Playing Game system focusing on storytelling, intended for people who had little to no experience in this type of game.  T_RPG looks to build a rule system that anyone can read in 30 minutes or less, and with sessions of not more than 60 minutes. T_RPG's rules system will be under creative commons, allowing anyone to modify and write stories, even for profits.

The motivation to build T_RPG is based on my dislike of how granular systems for Role Playing Games. Sometimes RPGs have entirely different mechanics for resolving various aspects that, in my opinion, could use the same process.

T_RPG system is loosely based on my experience with original D6 Star Wars with a dash 90's Dune's System and some from what I read from 2D20.

If you want to read the current version of the ruleset (at the moment only in Spanish), you can find it here. Please give me your feedback.

Rainbow Rose

In Rainbow Roses, players try to form multi-colored flowers before others; chance and luck combine in this family game where kids learn and practice primary and secondary colors.
